Today we added an integral interview to our MEN IN SUITS roster. Brian Steele… the man who brought the newest, meanest Predator to life in this summer’s PREDATORS as well as werewolves in the UNDERWORLD films and Mr. Wink in HELLBOY 2.
SUITS director Frank H. Woodward and Brian Steele. Brian is the tall one.
We were able to give advance screeners of THE SPLAT PACK to some of the filmmakers who took part in the documentary. It seems they’re quite happy with the final result (which allows us to breathe a little easier).
Eli Roth posted this on his Twitter feed… “Just watched @Wyrdstuff doc #TheSplatPack. It’s Splat-tastic! A goregasm for horror fans. So proud to be alongside everyone in it.”
Adam Green posted his thoughts via Twitter as well… “Great work with the Splat Pack doc @wyrdstuff ! An honor to be included and be considered a part of such a great group of filmmakers.”
We couldn’t be more thrilled about this reaction. It was a privilege and a pleasure interviewing everyone for The Splat Pack. Documentaries like this depend on the strength of its interviews and these fine members of the horror community gave us plenty to work with. Thanks to everyone!!
As previously posted, Wyrd is trying to get to Japan for our MEN IN SUITS documentary. We’re calling this stage of production “The Godzilla Interview”. So if you’d like to see in depth interviews with suit actors like Haruo Nakajima and Kenpachiro Satsuma we kindly ask that you make a donation to the MEN IN SUITS cause by following the link below.
Over the next 40+ days, Wyrd is exploring the new phenomenon of crowd-funding via the site Kickstarter. Each level of donation receives a reward including copies of Wyrd’s other documentaries (Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown and the upcoming The Splat Pack) and/or ‘Angel Producer’ status (including on screen credit and listing on Wyrdstuff where we will gladly link and cross promote your projects).
When one sees a trailer it usually means that film is coming soon. This trailer for Wyrd”s new documentary Men In Suits is coming to you at the beginning.
We’ve been hard at work gathering interviews with many of Hollywood’s top suit performers including Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth), Tom Woodruff Jr. (the Alien films, Pumpkinhead), John Alexander (Gorillas In The Mist, Men In Black), Doug Tait (Knights of Badassdom), Misty Rosas (Congo, Country Bears), Todd Tucker (Charmed), Camden Toy (Buffy), Kurt Carley (Underworld), Van Snowden (H.R. Puffnstuff), and Bobby Clark (the Gorn from Star Trek). You’ll also recognize other familiar faces in this trailer.
We have interviews with Brian Steele (Predators, Hellboy 2) and Bob Burns (one of the famous gorilla actors) in the works so keep checking in for details.
The big creature on the horizon, however, is the home of kaiju… Tokyo. And that is why this “In Production” trailer was made.
Wyrd’s new documentary looks back on the first decade of 21st Century horror films and the filmmakers who were dubbed “The Splat Pack” by film critic Alan Jones.
The Splat Pack features interviews with Alexandre Aja (High Tension), Darren Lynn Bousman (the Saw series), Adam Green (Hatchet), Alan Jones, Harry Knowles, Greg McLean (Wolf Creek), Neil Marshall (The Descent), Greg Nicotero, Eli Roth (Hostel), Staci Layne Wilson.
The Splat Pack is directed by Mark Henry and Frank H. Woodward. Written by Henry. Produced by William Janczewski, James B. Myers and Woodward. Music by Mars of Dead House Music.
Splat Pack will be available for download soon. Keep checking in on Wyrdstuff for details.
Bob has been very helpful with research for our new documentary MEN IN SUITS. One of the things he’s been working on is a complete list of films involving suit performers. He recently sent me this updated list. See how many of these classic monster movies you’ve seen?
